2nd International Fleece Competition in Finland – August 2025

The European Wool Association, in cooperation with Isokummun Kehräämö, is pleased to announce the 2nd International Fleece Competition, taking place during Wool Camp 2025, from 15 to 17 August in Finland.

Following the great success of the first edition, this competition once again brings together wool producers, shepherds, and fibre professionals from across Europe and beyond to celebrate the quality and diversity of wool.

Competition Details
• Date: 15–17 August 2025
• Location: Wool Camp, Finland
• Participation Fee: €25 per fleece
• Application Deadline: See shipping & storage requirements below

Each submitted fleece will be evaluated by an international jury:
• Kia Gabrielsson-Beer (Sweden)
• Ian Brooksbank (United Kingdom, British Wool)

Additionally, all fleeces will undergo scientific analysis in Betty Stikkers’ wool laboratory using OFDA technology. Detailed feedback will be provided to each participant after the event.

Awards
• Best fleece in each category
• Golden Fleece Award for the highest scoring entry
• Online auction after the competition – with proceeds going directly to the fleece owner
