Programme Overview
Friday, 15 August – Workshop Day
Hands-on sessions in fleece grading, sorting, spinning, felting, and other wool practices.
Saturday, 16 August – Excursion Day
Visits to Isokummun Lammastila (Satu’s sheep farm) and Villa Tuori (Sami’s spinning mill), offering a close-up look at a functioning local wool value chain.
Sunday, 17 August – European Sheep Fleece Competition
A juried fleece showcase with entries from across Europe. The event will include an online fleece auction and international networking opportunities.

For the second time, I and my team, have the honour of hosting the EWA Wool Camp and Fleece Competition. This year, for the first time, the Fleece Competition is international, with over 60 fleeces sent in from breeders across Europe! The Wool Camp is fully booked, and fleeces from multiple countries have already arrived in Finland to be assessed by our international jury. It’s time to celebrate the richness, quality, and beauty of European wool!

Could not make it to Finland this time? No problem — you can join us online from anywhere in the world!

• Follow the Fleece Competition via livestream
• Join the live online auction
• And best of all — bid on and purchase one of the winning fleeces, no matter where you are in the world!

Each fleece will receive detailed written feedback from the judges. Additionally, fleece samples will be analysed using OFDA testing by WoolPowers (Netherlands). Category winners will be awarded, and the best fleece overall will receive the prestigious Golden Fleece Prize.

Please note that all proceeds from fleeces sold in the online auction will be paid in full directly to the sheep breeders, supporting them directly and ensuring a transparent connection between producers and purchasers.
