Gender Equality Plan

Our Commitment

EWA is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in 2022 aiming to give back value to wool produced in Europe. The establishment of EWA was inspired by the need to find sustainable solutions in the context of the value chain for European wool and with consideration of the welfare of animals and the environmental sustainability of farms. At EWA we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace. We believe that gender equality is essential for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth. This Gender Equality Plan (GEP) reflects our commitment in line with Horizon Europe principles. At EWA we stand for:

  • Equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender

  • A respectful, inclusive, and safe working environment

  • Fair and transparent recruitment, career progression, and pay practices

  • Support for work-life balance

The above is put into practice in an inclusive Workplace Culture. We promote a positive and respectful work environment by:

  • Encouraging flexible working arrangements where possible

  • Supporting work-life balance for all employees

  • Providing awareness on diversity and inclusion

Fair Recruitment and Career Development. We aim to ensure fairness and transparency by:

  • Using gender-neutral language in job postings

  • Applying objective selection and evaluation criteria

  • Monitoring gender balance as the company grows

Leadership and decision-making processes. As we expand, we strive to:

  • Promote balanced representation in leadership roles

  • Ensure equal access to opportunities and responsibilities

Safe and Respectful Environment. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and harassment by:

  • Providing clear reporting channels

  • Ensuring confidentiality and fair handling of concerns

Responsible Innovation. Where relevant, we consider gender perspectives in the design of our research, products, and services.

Implementation and Monitoring. EWA  is committed to continuously improving its practices by:

  • Reviewing internal data related to workforce composition and career progression

  • Providing basic training and awareness activities

  • Regularly assessing and updating this plan

Responsibility for the implementation of this GEP is assigned to designated management personnel.
